Athens and Sounio full day tour (9 hours)

Start your day with an introduction to the Acropolis Museum and its masterpieces like the classical Parthenon, the Erechtheon, the wingless Victory Temple and the Propilei. Learn about Mars hill – ancient high court connected with St. Paul and his speech to the Athenians. Enjoy a comfortable drive in the heart of the greek capital in order to visit the stadium of the first modern Olympic Games of 1896 and to get to know Syntagma or Constitution Square with the Parliament and the traditionally dressed “Evzones“. See monuments of the 19th Century, like the Academy, the first modern greek University and the marble National Library. The tour also takes you to the Temple of Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian. Spend some time in Plaka – the old town and stroll around the narrow streets or enjoy lunc in a local tavern. In the afternoon drive to Cape Sounion following the beautiful coastal road along the Aegean Sea. See the southern suburbs and learn about the long history of the greek islands. Arrive at Cape Sounion and visit the wonderful Temple of Poseidon, God of the seas. The view from the 2500 years old shrine is superb. No wonder Cape Sounion is known for the most beautiful sunset in Greece.
